A great time to be a woman in tech
- There's never been a better time to be a woman in business and I believe there's never been a better time to be a woman particularly in technology. But let me start by just talking about the macro. First of all, every company needs more women, every board of directors needs more women, every C-suite needs more women, every non-profit needs more women leaders, every government needs more women leaders, and so I know there's can be a lot of negative news in the press about certain companies and behavior which we find to be totally reprehensible, however, I do believe there's never been a better time to be a woman. A woman in technology is even more rare, so the numbers at Facebook were at 35% women globally, that has moved up a couple of points 'cause we've been very focused on it. On the business side where I sit, we have over 50% women, but on the technology side, it is obviously less than 20%, and a large part of that challenge has been the pipeline of women that are studying STEM…
