- Maybe you're not ready to start your own meetup or lead the charge, but you don't have to. A great alternative is to offer to host someone else's event. Let me tell you, I have a networking group for entrepreneurs and I love it when someone else takes responsibility for the venue. It obviously makes it easier for me, but you won't be surprised to hear that those that offer to help end up making stronger, more meaningful connections than those that don't, why? Well, think about it. You've helped the leader of the group, and that will naturally give you more standing within the group. It's the so-called halo effect, you might say. Anyway, it works like this. Perhaps you offer your home as the meetup venue one particular month, or it might be the business facility that you work at. It depends of course, on whether your home or workplace is suitable and a good fit. Whatever the case, simply offering this as an option…
