Is there an ideal job for everyone?
From the course: Planning Your Career and Your Life
Is there an ideal job for everyone?
- Years ago, I read a book called "I Could Do Anything if I Only Knew What It Was" by somebody called Barbara Sher. And I thought it was interesting. I thought it was a good book. And she basically said, "if you're not absolutely loving the job you're doing the search must go on because somewhere out there is the perfect job for you." And I can't prove that that's true, but I do agree with Barbara Cher. I personally do think that you've got to keep looking for the job that is at least very good for you, if not perfect. So this section is just a little bit more about that, about how do we keep looking? What if we can't find the perfect job? Should we settle for a job that's half decent? And what if I love my job at the moment? You know, do I have to keep moving on if my job is pretty good at the moment? So let's explore the restless search.
