Be mindful of your body language

Be mindful of your body language

- Body language is not so much the position that someone has but the moment in time when that position changes. So people might appear more open to you with arms open or their tone of voice might be calm. If in a moment in a conversation that body language changes, that tone of voice changes, the smile drops, the eye contact goes away, those are indications that the client is sending a message to me, and I want to pay attention to them. I also want to be mindful when I'm speaking to a client that I resist temptation to let my body ticks take over. I get really mindful about where my hands are, how my tone of voice is staying steady, whether or not my eye contact is veering off of somebody. I stay intentional, even if I have something, a small itch and a desire to look away or cross my arms or cross my legs. And I just want to be mindful of that.
