- I think we quite often don't negotiate when we should have done. And I think there were two ideas which helped me to negotiate more often. And I want to share those with you now. And the first one is what I call instead of yes or no. So let's suppose I am asked to do a training course in a part of England I don't really want to go to, I won't name names. I don't want to upset anybody, but there are one or two bits of England that are not very nice, where you don't want to go. And if I'm asked to do that, I'm thinking instead of yes or no. So I could just say yes, all right, I'll do the course and not negotiate. Or I could just say, no, I'm not coming there and not negotiate. But the third option instead of yes or no, is to negotiate. What I do of course is I say, yeah, I can do that, it'll cost this much. And I double the price. And then they either say yes, and I do it. Or they say, no, which is fine because I…
