From the course: Learning Mastercam
3-button mouse
- [Voiceover] Here we are in the default Mastercam interface. When using 3D modeling software, it's important to use a 3-button mouse. Many commonly used commands are attached to different mouse buttons. So a three button device will speed up your workflow as you grow confident with different Mastercam functions. Now to demonstrate the mouse, I'll need a little bit of geometry. So I'll head up to WIREFRAME at the upper left, and let's just make a simple circle by clicking once, and then twice. Once we have the circle out here in the graphical view, I can use the left mouse button to drag a box around it, and then I have to click again in order to add that circle to my selection. I can also click on the edge of the circle to deselect. You'll note that if I drag a box that doesn't fully contain the circle, it won't be selected. If I've selected the circle, I can also deselect it by dragging a box again. The center wheel on the mouse is used for zoom, that's pretty straight forward. I can also hold down the mouse button to get a different view on my geometry. I can right-click the mouse button to bring up the mini tool bar, which contains a set of commonly used commands.
