- [Instructor] Revit made it pretty easy to hack up a steel beam, that's for sure. The objective of this video is to slice up some beams and add some plates. To get started, let's jump into Revit. Under models, let's go to new. And we'll grab metric structural template. Click OK. Run level two, that's fine. First thing I'd like to do is go to this steel tab. Let's select plate. On the drop panel, let's click a rectangle. I don't know, we'll make a plate like... It's big plate, isn't it? Come in here and make a plate about this big. Hit Esc a few times, click finish. The created elements are only visible in detail level fine. That's the most descriptive warning I've seen in a long time. Okay. Let's close out of it. Let's set our detail level to fine.
