- [Host] In this movie, we'll talk about ways to use 3D printers to surge capacity during emergencies. We'll also give you a quick introduction to what you would need to have minimal capacity that you could turn on quickly in a crisis. During an emergency, you might need products that you never anticipated. In these cases, you probably don't have vendors to supply you. You may be out of luck if something you need is suddenly in high demand. Being able to print in-house might at least tide you over until supplies are available again. 3D printing has the advantage of being able to spool up production quickly. Once the part's designed, there's essentially no lag in creating a small number of them. If a quickly thrown together design doesn't quite work, you can iterate until it does, or print something else entirely. If your staff temporarily needs to be remote, having 3D printers at each location may be cost-effective.…
