Animating focus distance for a rack-focus effect

- [Narrator] In cinematography, a rack focus effect is a change in the depth-of-field focus point over time. Its purpose is to drive viewer attention from one subject to another by changing what's in focus and what's blurry. On a real-world film set, a camera operator or an assistant called a focus puller very precisely adjusts the focus ring on the camera lens while the camera is recording a take. In CGI animation, we animate the camera's Focus Distance attribute, but because of the different types of measurement involved, we need to edit the focus distance function curve in a very particular manner to achieve a natural looking result. Our rack focus animation will start with the background in focus and then shift the focus to the foreground.
