Virtual design and construction help you understand what challenges might be ahead and helps convey a message of competence and understanding that go beyond just having years of experience. It shows technical savviness. When I was a young designer working on a mission-critical project, I was part of an interview team that reviewed all the contractors. This was over 10 years ago and some people were just getting into VDC. Every single contractor had completely modeled this complex facility in a week or less. After working on the project for eight months every day I was blown away by the speed at which they reproduced the project and the level of detail they were able to achieve in such a short amount of time.
