- [Narrator 1] Film and 3D printers usually create prints up from a first layer on a platform. This means that a whole print has to finish and then when it's done the printer has to stop and wait for the print to be taken off before starting another one. You're also limited in print size and all dimensions by the size of the printer. - [Narrator 2] However, there's a relatively new class of printers that use a conveyor belt instead of a conventional print platform. And have a two axis printing mechanism that's tilted at an angle. The print head carried by these other two axis, needs to be carefully aligned. And often ground smooth on one side so that it can extrude against the belt at an angle. Printers like this are called belt printers and they a couple of different uses.
