- [Instructor] Powder printers and the larger filament and resin printers that use specialized materials are a significant investment. They'll all likely come bundled with training and service contracts. We presume, in those cases, that you'll get a bid from a manufacturer or their resellers to see your overall costs. Powder printers start in the tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars and go up from there, depending in part on the material used. Metal printers are particularly expensive and place significant demands on their facilities. However, there are some new entry-level powder printers that have been announced that will print with nylon powder that are in the $10,000 range. This is something you may want to watch if you're primarily interested in nylon and other plastics.
