- The continued adoption of technology in the field of construction really expands the career paths in the AEC industry, and even opens up new ones. Let's take a look. - My name is Joshua Marriott. I've been in the construction industry for about 20 years. I started leaning a little bit more towards the technology side of things. So I merged into our VDC, our BIM department. I started working on 3D modeling design, coordination. Working with the architects, engineers, owners, internal project teams. Then I started getting into more of the R&D side of things. The field solutions. The newer technologies that are kind of arising within the construction industry. In the last couple of years I've been working on setting up that type of department within a large general contractor.
