- [Instructor] Remember, it's Personal Protective Equipment. It's meant to protect your health, your safety and your well-being. In order for it to take care of you, you need to take care of it. For specifics, please remember to always check those manufacturer's instructions, that is your best source for information like what type of chemical can I use to sanitize this equipment? How long does it last? Or how many times can I use it? And how do I store this so it's ready to use when I need it. Look for those cleaning instructions. They should tell you how to clean, what to clean with and what the limitations are. Some PPE is meant to be disposable or it may be marked for one-time use. Sometimes this is sort of an ambiguous designation. For example, if I have a disposable mask type of respirator, and I use it for five minutes while I enter a confined space to do a quick inspection, do I then have to throw it away? The…
