- [Instructor] So let's look at BIM workstations. Really it comes down to how much money you have. This is always a good subject because you need to have the gear to do your work. You know that. So where do you want to spend your own money? On slow computers or on slow projects? If I had my choice I'd go with a fast computer. Really only because I'm a complete nerd and I like lugging around the biggest coolest looking machine that has a battery life of about 15 minutes. So let's first look at Auto Desks minimum recommendations. Window 10, 64 bit of course. It's always a pain to upgrade your operation system, but you don't really want to get too far behind on this. As far as the CPUs go, I like the Intel i7 series. What are you doing? Rendering, opening large models? Auto Desk stuff will use 16 cores if you have it.
