- One of the engineering controls that some facilities may consider are changes that can result in more fresh air inside the office. And depending on your facility, there are options for adding fresh air exchanges, increasing air filtration or the addition of sanitizing devices to kill viruses that may be in the air. Let's take a look at each of these options, starting with adding more fresh air or increasing air exchanges. One solution on the simple end of the spectrum here is to simply open more windows and doors, get more fresh air flowing through the office. Now, another way to increase exposure to fresh air is to repurpose outdoor spaces. I've seen some office buildings leverage courtyard spaces by adding outdoor workstations. I've also seen some schools, repurpose courtyards or other outdoor space by adding seating and tables to create outdoor classrooms. Companies can do the same to create outdoor training space.…
