Connected alignments
- [Instructor] Building off the concept of offset alignments we just looked at in the last exercise, is the newest type of alignment in Civil 3D known as a connected alignment. Now connected alignments are really something that's been around since the intersection object was introduced back in 2010. They're what we would consider a curb return alignment that's a by-product of the intersection object. But now we have the ability to create these independent of the intersection object. And the result in this case is what's called a connected alignment. Now a connected alignment is similar to creating a fillet between two other alignments. But a connected alignment is much more than just a filleted entity. It's linked horizontally and vertically to the alignments that fed, or that it's connected to. We'll look at, of course, the more of the vertical connection in more detail in a later exercise. But for now, let's create a connected alignment and see how they work. So we're going to go…
