- [Instructor] I've heard this is hard to do. I've actually heard this is impossible to do. What I want to do in this video is create a simple VAV, it doesn't have to be fancy, it's just going to be a box with a duct connector on it. To get started, jump into Revit. Under families, let's go new. Go to where you're keeping your family templates. I'm just going to start with a generic model. Click open. Perfect. Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to go to my family category and parameters and I'm going to click that button. I'm going to scroll down to the mechanical equipment, and I'm going to allocate this family category as mechanical equipment. Click okay. Heh, we're halfway there. Let's make some simple reference planes, we can still make it flexible. So I'm going to right click on this reference plane here, and I'm going to create similar.
