Creating an aiSkyDomeLight
- [Instructor] For environment and image-based lighting use an Arnold Skydome light. This comes in very handy for situations such as material editing. Because we don't need to bother with building a scene environment out of geometry nor do we need to worry about setting up lights. All we need to do is drop a Skydome in this scene and apply a high dynamic range environment map and we've got an instant lighting solution and a backdrop. To create an Arnold Skydome light, go into the Arnold menus, to lights, Skydome light. The light is selected and we can see its attributes in the channel box. The size of the light in the view port is determined by this attribute here, sky radius. And just so that we can see the Skydome light a little bit better in our view ports, we can reduce the sky radius. That will not affect the background or the lighting. And the position of the Skydome will not affect the backdrop or the lighting…
