Creating a beam pocket

- [Instructor] The beam pockets are like slab depressions. Only they're hosted to the face of a wall, rather than to a horizontal face. In this video, we'll creative void family and insert it into a foundation wall. So for this example, I have some nicely laid out beam pockets here. This is what we're going to create. Again, I'd much rather create a family and load it into my model, than create an in-place family. So in this case we're going to actually create a hosted family, load into model and cut our wall up. Okay, to get started let's go into Revit under families let's go New. Now browse to English-Imperial. I'm going to scroll down to Generic Model face based. Now I'm going to click Open. Excellent, it's like we did before. Let's start creating some reference planes and then dimensions and then parameters. So right click on this reference plane, let's go Create Similar, then draw panel, let's click our pick lines…
