- [Instructor] What I'd like to do this week is see how we can get a material to be self-illuminate. I'm going to jump into a project I have already defined. So, under projects, let's go open. I'm going to browse where I'm keeping my exercise files, or, again, you can open up any project you happen to be in. Let's click open. Now, what I'd like to do is put a nice little soffit around the edge of this wall here, but this soffit's going to have an uplight glow to it. Instead of putting a component in, such as a strip light, we're just going to create an in-place family, then apply a material to it that is self-illuminating. The first thing I want to do, however, is go to our south elevation. You may remember how we put the counter heighth, I want to do a soffit height one as well. So, I'ma right-click on the reference plane, and I'ma create similar. On my draw panel, let's click pick lines. For the offset, let's go eight feet.
