- [Instructor] Sometimes the print will need support, which is extra material that's laid down to keep an overhanging part of the print from falling down. This letter F print needs support below all of its lower crossbar, but only at the ends of its upper crossbar. The print has to bridge the gap in between without support. The part may sag a little, but the quality should be acceptable. Here in Ultimaker Cura we can add this type of support by going to Support, Generate support, and checking the check box, and selecting support placement, touching bill plate. There's a trade-off between fully supporting them also it doesn't sag and making the support easy to remove when the print is finished. Sometimes the automated support from any slicer is just not what you want. Then you need to create it manually. Look into that a little bit too.
