- Okay, this one always gets me in trouble. And to be honest, going back to the person who says hand drafting is better, (chuckles) I never used to have to worry about this as much. Usually it just happened in the field. I find that BIM doesn't make this easier. It just makes it more important. We're using BIM to do field coordination. That means we have to worry about it sooner, and boy, do I worry. Let's take a look at what I've seen works for me in the past. So here's my order. The first thing I think you should run are sloped rain leaders. See, sloped rain leaders have to be in a specific spot and run at a specific slope. There's really no adjusting for them. Next thing, of course, is HVAC duct, the big stuff. After that, of course, the process and hydronic piping. That takes up a lot of space. And once the HVAC duct and all your VAVs are in place, it kind of has to go where it's going. Sprinkler mains, especially in sloped/dry systems, cause, hey, they again, have to go where…
