Cryptomatte
- [Instructor] Now, unlike the MultiMatte render elements that we looked at in the previous exercise, Cryptomatte doesn't require any extra setup in the scene at all, so no object or material IDs, no unique color assignments, nothing like that. Although, I do have to say right from the get-go that, on the downside, the Cryptomatte element can't be propagated through reflections and or refractions in the way that the MultiMatte elements can. Meaning, again, that in certain situations or on certain shots, the MultiMatte element may still be the better option for us. With that out of the way though, to add a Cryptomatte entry to our Render Elements list, let's, with the Asset Editor open, come to the Create Asset button, and then, from the Render Elements flyout, choose the Cryptomatte option.
