- [Instructor] Another term that we hear safety and health professionals use when talking about PPE is donning and doffing. Donning is the act and procedure followed for putting on the PPE, and doffing is the term for removing the PPE. Proper donning and doffing of PPE is essential to its use. And while at first that might sound a little obvious to some of you, let's look at some specific cases. When donning a piece of PPE, it's certainly important to put it on correctly, and this will be specific to each piece of PPE and its instructions. Where the instructions tend to stop, however, is when it comes to properly putting on multiple pieces of PPE. In what order should the different pieces be put on? And what about taking it off?
