- [Instructor] We now check out rebuilding surfaces. This is similar to rebuilding curves, but a little bit different. If you remember when we rebuilt curves, we only focused on a single degree value. Typically that was one, two or three. But surfaces have two values for degrees since they have two directions. Let's zoom in to Example A, see these isocurves? These are the two directions illustrated visually. Technically they're referred to as u and v. So it's labeled here that this is degree 1,1. You might gather that information because there's a straight line on one side and a straight line on the other side, which are always degree one. So this is a surface made from multiple degree one input curves and therefore it is degree 1,1. But if I wanted to bulge it up and down and get three-dimensional, it is currently impossible.
