- [Instructor] When listing your employment history begin with your most recent experience and then work back on your employment timeline. This will be any work experience regardless of if it is trade related. A common format is to list the employers name, city and state in bold. Follow this with your position title, and dates of employment in bold or in italics. Explain any gaps in your employment history and provide some examples of what you were doing during those times. Next, list your job duties. You can use a sentence format or a bulleted list of your duties, achievements, and awards. Emphasize any transferrable or trade related skills. A simple internet search will provide you with many types of resume templates and formats. This example illustrates a bulleted format.
