- [Narrator] List any trade-related experience in the experience section of your resume. This does not need to be paid experience and can come in many shapes and forms. Many people omit unpaid experiences because they do not deem them as valid. Oftentimes this type of experience is the most valuable because it shows the interview committee that you enjoy working with your hands and that you do so in your free time. An applicant who enjoys active work is someone who has potential to stay with the industry. Some examples include hobbies like working on a car or a motorcycle, making jewelry, building a shed, deck, fence, or a piece of furniture, construction-related volunteer work, or participating in industrial arts, CTE, or STEM classes.
