Exporting to CAD

- [Narrator] Sometimes there's a need to basically flatten our Revit and send it to AutoCAD. Let's demonstrate. I'm gonna open up any project that I want to export to CAD. Now if we go to the file tab, let's come down to export. Let's go to CAD formats, and then you can just choose the CAD format you want. I'm gonna choose DWG. Now we can select export setup. Go ahead and click on your browse button. Here we're gonna make the translation from objects to layers. These generally follow the NCS National CAD Standard Layering. We can go to lines. We can either automatically generate line types, or we can choose any one we want here. I like to just automatically generate 'em. Of course, our patterns, what's gonna happen is our fill patterns in Revit are gonna become hatch patterns in the drawing file.
