- [Narrator] Often times you perform functions on surfaces like trims, or face blends, or whatever that may be and then the surface has been modified. It's been cut away, blended away, whatever. So if I come in for example, go into surface, and I apply a face blend. Pick you, pick you, and select okay. And I realize maybe I needed the original surface from one of these, or maybe I wanted an edge or whatever that may be. There's a tool called extract, let me go ahead and undo this. And I'm gonna go over to home. Under the feature gallery under more, it's called extract geometry. Often times it's very useful to pick geometry and extract it and use that extracted version to blend away or trim away, and retain the original. Maybe you need to go back and do a trim body to it, or maybe you need to offset it, or whatever that may be. You don't want the original to be affected. So, you have this tool called extract. You can also extract curves. So if I wanted to extract an edge for example…
