- [Instructor] Whether it's gloves, safety glasses, or anything else, it's important to try it on and make sure it fits as intended before you need it. Gloves that are too big can get caught in machinery. Any PPE that's too small is likely not to be worn at all. These things have to fit, and I keep emphasizing this because I continue to see these issues out there in the field. Now, of course it's important to consider the tasks you'll be performing. Loose-fitting isolation gowns and coveralls are not uncommon to see in the healthcare industry where the main function is to isolate the wearer from the patients and the environment they work in is fairly open. These gowns and coveralls may be larger, but they can be gathered and contained by ties and straps.
