- [Instructor] There's two types of standards I'd like to discuss. First, there are the graphical standards: How do my drawings look? Then there's the second: How does our production work efficiently? Well, believe it or not the two work hand in hand. See, if you take the guess work out of what line weight or what font you should be using you decrease time spent looking for this stuff and increase the chance of a uniform set of drawings. Let's look at some graphical and production items you should be tackling. First, the graphical: Fonts. The National CAD Standard is very specific on what types of fonts you should be using. Not to go too into depth here 'cus we have a whole chapter on NCS, but SHX is no good. An SHX font is something that was made up by Autodesk, it's very hard to transfer from one program to another and NCS does not like it.
