(compelling music) - If I told you that concrete was the most widely used construction material, that might not surprise you very much. You see concrete all around you: sidewalks, streets, buildings, and you see it on almost every construction project. But what if I told you that concrete was actually the most widely used man-made material on the planet? That's a lot of concrete. And we've been using concrete since the Roman times. When they figured out that they could use volcanic ash as cement in their concrete to build things like the Pantheon in Rome, which still stands today as the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world, and it's almost 2,000 years old. Today's concrete and concrete industry looks a little different than it did back in the Roman times. For example, we use things like laser levels to keep our concrete slabs flat and level.
