Importing and linking CAD

- [Instructor] In this video, I'd like to look at importing as well linking CAD, and when we would import, and when we would actually link. Let's take a look. Let's start a new project. We use the architectural template. Say for example, I want to trace over a floor plan. This is a case where we might wanna link the file because we don't know if the floor plan is gonna be edited. Also, a link instead of an insert makes the file size a lot smaller. Let's go to the insert tab. Let's go to link CAD. Browse where you're keeping the CAD files. I'm gonna grab an architectural floor plan. It's a good idea to have it be current view only. For my colors, I generally like black and white. For the layers/levels, let's just go visible. That way we're not dragging a bunch of garbage. Import units auto detect. Sometimes you might have to play around with that. Positioning, I'll keep this at auto origin to origin. But if you're starting from scratch, a lot of times, you wanna go center to center…
