- [Instructor] Sometimes you just can't avoid using AutoCAD. That's fine, you can use it, you're not violating some bin rule or something. But by creating a drafting view at 1:20, we're going to import an AutoCAD detail, then we'll drag it onto a drafting sheet. Let's get started. Under models let's go open, browse to where you're keeping your exercise files, and I'm going to open Structural-46. What we need to do is make a new drafting view. So go to view, then go to drafting view right here. For the name we'll call it AutoCAD Beam Detail. You need to know the scale since we're dealing with AutoCAD. I happen to know that that scale is 1:20, click okay. Go to the insert tab, and click on import CAD. I'm going to browse to my Typical Perimeter Beam section. And we have some choices. Usually when I'm using this as an actual detail, I like to change my colors to black and white. For layers or level, I like to just say visible.…
