- [Instructor] The LEED AP with Specialty Credential holder is an individual with the knowledge and skills necessary to support the LEED certification process. There are two eligibility criteria for LEED AP credential. The candidates must be 18 years of age or older, and must have earned the LEED Green Associate credential. USGBC strongly recommends prior LEED project experience. However, this is not mandatory. If you don't already have the LEED Green Associate credential, you have the option of taking both LEED Green Associate and AP exams in one sitting, as long as you don't mind sitting for a total of four hours for the combined exam. I've had students who did this and successfully passed both. If you're not sure, I recommend taking and passing the LEED Green Associate exam first, then the LEED AP exam.
