LEED certification

- The LEED rating system is one of the most widely used green building certifications. "LEED" stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, the USGBC, LEED includes various rating systems for new construction, interior fit-out projects, existing buildings, homes, and neighborhoods. Everyday 2.2 million square feet of space is LEED certified. There are more than 90,000 projects participating in LEED across 162 countries. And over 200,000 LEED credential professionals. The USGBC creates and updates LEED rating systems, while Green Business Certification Inc., or GBCI, is responsible for project certification and credential exams. There are five LEED rating systems that address multiple project types.
