- [Instructor] One question I get from my students every semester is how to build a spiral ramp? In this demo, we look at a few simple strategies, and oddly enough, we do not use the spiral command at all. We use the helix, confused, I can understand. In situations like this I tend to nickname these cousin commands, because the names are almost interchangeable like they're related, and they actually happened to live close to each other. So if we go to curve menu, you'll see helix and spiral right next to each other. So that's one reason for the confusion. Secondly, a helix we can just define it by having a constant radius over in the perspective view port, we'll see that it goes up the same size while the spiral you can see from the top view, is changing radius or spiraling outwards. I'm going to go ahead and turn off that commands layer and we'll start making the ramp. I prefer to do all my work in perspective, just to…
