- [Instructor] One troubleshooting tip I feel I should share … when it comes to painting materials on walls. … If you want to have a wall that has … two different materials on it, … it has to be two separate walls. … So for instance, I have this wall here. … On one part of the wall on one side … and I'll say about going this way, … I want it to look one way and going this way, … I want it to look another. … But I have it drawn as one wall. … You must split it. … So what you're going to want to do is … you want to go up here to Split Element. … You want to come through and you want to actually split … where this is going to be … and we'll say it's about midway up the wall there. … So now these are two separate walls. … So if you want to paint something different on this wall, … you can now do so. … As of right now, there's a carpet material … that's painted on this wall. … You can actually paint something else … and if you notice I just put my mouse over on top of it … and it's even telling me this is an interior wall …
