Nontraditional educational backgrounds

- [Instructor] Another path to BIM management is through a nontraditional background, meaning that you have a degree in information technology or business management. Perhaps you have a degree in project management or a workforce education. I even know individuals that have no actual college degrees or very little education at all that have gone on to become BIM managers. Now in each of these scenarios, the reason why they were able to become BIM managers is that they began working for either an architect or an engineer or a construction firm and began to put those different experiences into place so that they eventually started working with either CAD software or BIM software. Then they had normal interaction with architects, engineers, construction managers, facilities managers, and through these interactions, they became more and more able to converse with these individuals on their needs, their problems, and how to solve their problems.
