- [Instructor] There are several reasons you may want to change your 3D printers nozzle. Abrasive materials may start to change the way film is laid down, impacting print quality. Some nozzles are so cheap that you can treat them as disposable, so we won't care if they braid. It might also seem attractive to change your nozzle diameter. For example, you might want to use a large nozzle to speed up a large print, then use a smaller diameter for prints with fine features. Another reason it may seem attractive to use a disposable nozzle, is that it helps you avoid cleaning out clogs. You would just throw the clogged nozzle away and replace it and alternative is cold pull technique, which you might look up for more details. Some users still recommend another alternative to the cold pull method in which you remove the nozzle and heat it with a butane torch to melt the plastic out before reinstalling it.
