Overview of a construction specification book

- [Instructor] Construction specifications are the actual written instructions for a particular construction project or projects. We spoke earlier about Master Format and how we know that Master Format provides the framework and numbering system for construction specifications. However, there's much more to construction specifications than just the numbers. Generally speaking, construction specifications are printed in a book or electronically and contain some of the following major components. A title page that identifies the name of the project and possibly the location, the owner and some of the designers. A table of contents. A table of contents not only lists the specification and items in the book itself but may provide a list of drawings and other contract documents that apply to the job. Administrative Requirements. Although these are specification sections, they are more legal and procedural in contract language than they are nuts and bolts descriptions. Examples of this…
