- Another question that often comes up as soon as I start talking about fabricating entire assemblies like wall or floor systems offsite is, "How will they be inspected?" And that's certainly something that the industry has to explore and address as this type of prefabrication becomes more prevalent, but it's also not something that we haven't dealt with in the past as an industry. I already mentioned precast concrete in the last video. That's a form of modular offsite construction where a structural concrete member is premade at a plant and then shipped out to the job site. And there are often requirements for inspections of the reinforcing steel inside that concrete. Now, sometimes the agency's inspector from the local building department does travel out to the plant. Sometimes a third-party inspector that's located in the same city as the plant is hired. And sometimes because of the controlled environment in a plant…
