- [Instructor] Personal projects are an excellent way to learn skills and try out some new things while working on your own schedule and timeline. Don't be afraid to go outside of your comfort zone. There is a ton of information online if you get stumped by a particular process. YouTube, eHow, Instructables, and the DIY network are just a few examples of resources available online. Pick a project that is within your budget and have fun. Don't have some of the tools necessary for our project? Many communities have Tool libraries that will loan out tools. Document the evolution of the project with caption photos.
