Printing with resin
- [Instructor] If filament-based printing is not ideal For your applications, you might select a printer that's based on liquid resin. Consumer-level resin printers have a small tray of UV-curable resin, and a light source used to harden the resin selectively. SLA printers use a laser to harden the resin one small spot at a time. DLP printers are similar, but use a projector to illuminate a whole layer at a time. Others use an inkjet-like technique to spray resin to create the print's features. Many of these printers are more expensive than a typical filament printer. Though machines that use a cheaper version of this process are starting to become available for a few hundred dollars. - [Narrator] Prototyping with a resin printer may give you better surface finish results than is possible with a filament-based printer.
