- [Instructor] A program of a logic controller or PLC is like a computer usually solid state and it's used to perform various control types of functions in a commercial and industrial setting. The control functions of a PLC are similar to those in ladder logic. So the drawings or details of a PLC schismatic are visually similar. PLC drawings or are sometimes referred to as IO drawings, or input and output drawings. You see, a PLC computer may rely on status or the statuses of more than one particular input device, like sensors or switches, in order to determine whether or not output devices may go on or off, or take some action. Let's take a look at some of these drawings. First of all, PLC diagrams have symbols, they're usually very specific to the design of the PLC logic.
