- [Instructor] In this first prototyping lesson, we address a very common beginner problem: random model sizes. Now, many beginners will start modeling without any thought whatsoever about the file units. Later, right before they need to prototype, they then find out their model is somehow gigantic or microscopic. Oops! This happens way too often in my class. So just a very important rule here, we're going to zoom in, and talk about two things you should never assume. Especially if you've opened a file from somebody else. You can never tell just by looking what is the units, and what is that grid spacing. You may not realize it, but Rhino can be in any unit size from inches, millimeters, yards, in fact there's 26 varieties of units, including one set called "No Units."
