- [Instructor] In this prototyping lesson, we learn to recognize and then eliminate the dreaded naked edge. If you have never run into this naked edge problem, wow. You are a very lucky or special person. But I am betting that anyone who has ever tried to prototype more than once has seen it. In fact, you might have had naked edges and didn't even notice. Let's zoom into the perspective here by double clicking. Let's now define the naked edge. So we see a lot of surfaces joined along edges, which should be closed, but somehow they're still open and that is exactly what a naked edge is. So how does this happen? Well, it's from sloppy modeling. It's from stuff that's overly complicated, or you try to make details way smaller than your tolerance setting. So just keep in mind all those good practices we've mentioned in other videos about keeping curves simple and clean and using osnaps. So how do we find a naked edge?…
