- [Instructor] Radiography, which is often referred to as x-ray, as a useful, non-destructive inspection method. Essentially, it allows the inspector a view into the interior of the part. This inspection method is accomplished by passing x-rays through the part or assembly being tested while recording the absorption of the x-rays onto a film that is sensitive to the x-rays, just like you would experience when you go to the doctor's office for an x-ray. The exposed film is developed, which then allows the inspector to analyze variations in the opacity of the exposure recorded onto the film. This creates a visualization of the relationship of the component's internal details. Then a visualization of internal anomalies can be seen. The various anomalies are delaminations. Maybe the resin and set up correctly or was not spread out well enough. There's core damage, such as core that has been crushed or blown out. This can…
