- Retail projects owe so much of their glory to their contexts and are reflection of the bustling city centers and shopping districts. In Los Angeles, like in any metropolitan area, we have an abundance of them. Studio City Retail Block. Studio City is a trendy area of Los Angeles that is bursting with small businesses, restaurants, shopping, and services. When we were invited to design a ground-up shopping center, we looked to simplify the lines as much as possible and create a timeless presence on this iconic strip of Ventura Boulevard. The project was created for a developer, who would later lease the individual spaces to retailers, restaurants, and service providers. The series of stores we were working on links to and share parking with the small retail complex developed in a traditional Cape Cod Residential Village style.
